Psalm 116, comprising two verses only, is the shortest psalm in the Psalter of David. Traditionally it was even joined to Psalm 115 during the Divine Office, because it was not thought to be substantive enough to treat as an independent psalm. Nevertheless, it expresses a complete sentiment, a joyful, noble, and confident theme.
